Beginning of a background spread in a themed black and white journal. Ignore the messy blotches, they'll be covered with penwork soon.

Using just these two colors is really a stretch for me! This journal is a challenge by a friend from the local craft store... to make a strictly black and white journal, and then once it's done she is going to show us how to make it colorful.
