Art Project 2012 - Sept 10

Finished the altered book spread - added a quote (stamped on cream paper) and chipboard words "Take the road less traveled". Pitt pen accenting.

Altered Book - Theme is journey. Adhered vintage map pages into the book, layers of stenciling and paints in teal colors.

Final spread of the altered book on the theme "Words to Live by". A bit of shadowing and branches were added. It's now been passed on to the next artist.

Footnote: I'm still adjusting to working, and fitting everything into one day... I'll keep posting my art, it just may be later than I'd wish. :)

Altered Book Pages - tiered pages. I applied gesso to the pages, and used a recycled container with cool roundy things to add the black circles. Then I tore the pages to tier. Fun!

Day 118 Art Project 2012

Altered book spread in progress. I've made pockets by folding the middle pages down. These aren't attached, I'm debating sewing or stapling them. Colored with acrylic paints and distress inks. Stencil used is by Mary Beth Shaw. Work in progress.

This is a shot of all the pages I started before the trade begins. This book will be worked in by 10 other artists, one a month, so I won't see it for quite awhile.
