This will be my last post for the 2012 Art Project - doing art every single day!

Working on a variety of canvases this week... among other things. Here's a sampling:

Still working on this little 4x4 canvas - I've added some webbed ribbon to the foreground to start the texture.

Still working on this mixed media canvas. I've worked on dying lace to use as tree branches... we'll see if it works as I envision.

Work continues (slowly) on this landscape. This picture includes the photo that inspired the painting, taken on a trip with my husband to Artist Point this last October.

Day 1 - Art Project 2012

Happy New Year, Everyone! 

I'm starting another year of creating some type of art every single day, This blog will document my work. I'm still working out whether I'll post every day, or once a week, but for now I'll continue in the format I used last year.. a post a day. 

For Day 1 - January 1 2012

Mixed Media Canvas - 8 inches x 8inches x 2 inches. Abstract Landscape using acrylic paints over textured base. This technique was one I learned from Tracie Lyn Huskamp in 2010, and I've added my own twists. This particular piece is being submitted tomorrow in the Allied Arts of Whatcom County Members Show, and will be on display from January 6 through January 28th. 

Day 365 of 365 (December 31)

Abstract Canvas (8x8x2) work in progress - several layers in. String and additional lace added.  This is not the best photo, I took it before the gel medium dried, so that is the white you see. More work will be done!

It's New Year's Eve, and I'm proud to say I have created art every day for this past year. There are days it's been a challenge, however I've decided I'll be continuing  with the Art 365 Challenge during 2012 as well.
